Newt Gingrich Tries Backtracking From “Meet The Press” Comments
(Waterloo, IA) – Republican White House hopeful Newt Gingrich admits he’s hit some bumps along the campaign trail. In Iowa yesterday, Gingrich noted the challenge and the criticism from Republicans over his remarks on NBC’s “Meet
the Press.” He said the Medicare plan from House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan goes too far and is quote, “right-wing social engineering.” However, Gingrich said he never mentioned the Ryan budget and says he would have voted for it in the House.
