Here’s a run down on New Mexico News and Views on the radio yesterday at 4:30. Pastor Steve Smothermon of Legacy Church in Albuquerque who has been out in front on the fight for Jesus Christ here in New Mexico for years was with us. Pastor Steve is with us every Wed now at 4:30.

Look around, Governor Rick Perry calls for all the other Governors of the United States of America to join in a day of prayer and fasting and NOT ONE GOVERNOR has joined him, shame on all these Governor’s including our own Gov. Martinez here in New Mexico. Gov. Martinez where are you? Pastor Steve says he helped get Martinez elected, but some of the people around her are not people of God. Are we no longer a nation of God? This is very alarming folks…….are you not alarmed? Maybe that is our Country’s problem, most so called Christians have gone to sleep.
Gov. Rick Perry is now being sued for calling for this day of prayer! This is the World we live in!
These are not easy things to say, but they must be said! Look at Washington D.C all I see is darkness on both sides…….look into Minn, that state is shut down and they tell me the piles of garbage and stink is awful, no trash pick-ups in areas, no budget.And the Republican Party in several States, is caving into the Democrats on funding planned parenthood…..let’s face it the Republican Party and the Democratic Party are disasters! They have driven this Country right to hell, Shame on us for allowing this to happen! Is this the Country we want to hand down to our Children?
As pastor Steve said last night we need to hold up REAL Christian leaders, those that are FULLY FOR GOD for elected office. I asked Steve if he would consider running for Governor of New Mexico, he said he would and has but the main concern for him is the Church, it is the largest Church now in New Mexico. He said he would consider running for Mayor of Albuquerque. Steve is in prayer about all this, His most important thing to do in his life is to do what GOD directs him to do, please pray for him.
I am so thankful for Steve, he tells it like it is through God’s eyes. no ifs, ands or buts about it! This man has clearly given his whole life to Jesus Christ! We need more leaders who just don’t say they are Christian, but act like a Christian and are BOLD in their leadership!
Steve also called for the resignation of NM Atty Gen Gary King and Albuquerque Public Safety Dir. Darren White. Enough of the monkey business of these two. King is just plain incompetent and White has seen the Police Dept. disintegrate right before his eye’s with all the Police shootings of civilians and now this whole mess with his wife’s accident and him driving her away…..leaves a dark cloud that we may never no the truth what has happened. One of the Police officers involved in that deal has already got himself an attorney to protect himself. The time has come for a Federal Investigation of the Albuquerque Police Dept with all the shootings, Councilman Dan Lewis has suggested that, and the Officer Levi Chavez case in the killing of his wife and the cover up involving APD and the Chavez family’s involvement in stolen cars!!!
This is a very dark and deep sewer that can no longer be ignored by Christians! Pastor Steve called for Governor Martinez and Mayor Berry to be more involved with the King and the White situation.
This Country was raised up by Christian leaders…………it has been torn down by the darkness……it is time for REVIVAL and Christian leaders to not only to SPEAK UP but DO the work of GOD!
This is the worst shape Our County has been in since the Civil War……This is worse than the Great Depression as this Country knew Jesus then,…….Our Country is at a crucial point in it’s history, will it die or live? Our County is so divided……the Darkness vs. the LIGHT of JESUS CHRIST. God has given us the POWER to turn our Country around, but the question is will we repent and seek HIM and use the POWER of JESUS CHRIST? and be BOLD for HIM?

Gary King’s overwhelming incompetence and corruption is choking our state. He has “accomplished” the following according to published media reports.
*Attorney General Gary King lost in district court and the appeals court on June 23, 2011 to State Auditor Hector Balderas on an overreaching subpoena issue. King has refused to agree to Balderas’ request to make the details of the judge’s ruling available to the public in the interest of transparency.
*Gary King lost a critical case before the United States Supreme Court on DWI that he fumblingly presented in person to the court on March 2, 2011 and the ruling was made in June 2010.
*Attorney General King lost in federal district court and again at the federal appeals court on June 30, 2010 when he and Mary Herrera joined to tried to deny non-profit groups their first amendment rights to participate in education the public on actions by legislators, and also to force the groups to divulge name of all their supporters.
*Gary King was disqualified March 17, 2011 by a district court judge for his serious conflicts of interest in the Secretary of State HAVA case where he used his position to charge a former employee and her husband who had campaigned against him.
*AG King has failed for 3 years to bring any charges in the Mary Herrera case. He has failed for 4 years to bring any charges to the Richardson administration.
*Gary King lost in state district court on the PRC Jerome Block case, with the court throwing out the dozen felony charges due to King’s attempt at double jeopardy, leaving only misdemeanor charges.
*Gary King lost in state court on all of the 25 charges but 1 minor issue on the Roberta Vigil Las Vegas Schools case in district court, and she received probation.
*Attorney General Gary King violated state procurement code law according to an audit as reported by the Associated Press in November 2010, when his violated the rule requiring a contract to be in place before expending over $5,000.
*Attorney General King was caught attempting to violate the procurement code in hiring a special prosecutor in the Vigil-Giron case as reported on May 17, 2001, so that now a district attorney had to take over the contract hiring of a prosecutor.
* Attorney General King was forced to requested $300,000 from the legislature to reimburse the federal Medicaid Fraud program for unauthorized expenditures by his office uncovered in an audit. The fine was paid at taxpayers’ expense.
*Gary King was exposed on April 9, 2009 for claiming that a proposal to ban Double-dipping was unconstitutional, only to be exposed that his 13 top appointees were double-dippers. (Double-dipping is the practice of a high-ranking employee retiring to receive a pension, then returning to a high paid position at the office to receive pension and salary at the same time).
*New Mexico Attorney General King has admitted that he forged the name of his former campaign treasurer for 6 years on 35 federal reports after the treasurer had resigned.
*Gary King has also been accused of a conflict of interest by Frank Foy and Victor Marshall in the SIC case, in which he failed to disclose the $55,000 he received from Richardson, or that he had staff attorneys that were related to witnesses on the case, or that the ERB chairman so critical to the case was King’s former PAC treasurer, as well as Richardson’s treasurer.
*Gary King has had over 23 serious audit findings in his annual audits over the past 4 years, yet there were only 2 findings in the previous 8 years of the Attorney General Madrid administration.
*Attorney General King lost before a district court judge on March 15, 2011 when he was found to have violated the Inspection of Public Records Act, in order to hide information on a lawsuit against his office. The judges’ ruling includes a fine to be paid by his office, at taxpayer expense. Yet the Attorney general’s office is the agency charged with enforcing the same act.
*N.M. Attorney General King is currently the subject of multiple lawsuits by numerous female employees of his office, suing him for gender discrimination and wrongful termination.
*Gary King was exposed by the Wall Street Journal on April 29, 2009 for a “Pay to Sue” scheme in which King received $50,000 for a national law firm, who coincidentally received a contract worth millions from the attorney general’s office.
*Gary King, as reported on July 2, 2011 is in Hawaii all this week along with his top appointees on a attorney general junket, has been criticized for his love of travel, having travelled to Europe and the Middle East no less than 10 times in the last 4 years.
*Gary King on March 10, 2010 was accused of allowing his Senior Counsel to have a conflict of interst in serving as president of an environmental group on a petition to the state Environmental Improvement Board (EIB) while the attorney general was also the legal advisor to the EIB.
*Gary King has gotten wealthy off of tax dollars according to a July 7, 2010 article in the Santa Fe Reporter where it was disclosed that the King family received millions in farm subsidies and other federal subsidies from the federal government.
*Gary King was exposed in an article on September 8, 2009 for trying to be the power to rule on a conflict of interest charge involving his first cousin PRC board member David King, who in turn was voting on water rights issues while owning a water rights company.
*Gary King was exposed in June of 2011 for creating and staffing at taxpayers’ expense a political blog to comment and frame the news, in response to his displeasure that the news does only present his side of the news.
*Gary King has come under heavy fire for his extended web of family connections and their business interests that seem to come to close to what they are empowered to regulate. Kings cousins have held official positions with the Attorney general’s office, the legislature, the state land commission, the PRC, and at one time the Governor’s office. Those offices regulate, enforce or finance issues regarding cattle ranching, land leases, water rights, real estate development, farming, and butane sales. The King family business interests are also cattle ranching, land leases, water rights, real estate development, farming, and butane sales.
* Gary King in January of this year announced that New Mexico could recognize gay marriages from other states since our law does not explicitly say we cannot.
*Gary King was exposed by the Albuquerque Journal on July 14, 2011 for dragging his feet for one and a half years to release a legal opinion on contract bids.
* Gary King almost hit the jackpot a few years ago when the Albuquerque Downs Racetrack and Casino attempted to relocate to the east mountains. By “coincidence” the 500 acres they were to build on was owned by the King Ranch at the time, yet the attorney general regulates horse racing issues.
I ran out of room to include them all, but as you can see the issues against are of tsunami proportions. King continues to hold the position of the highest prosecutor in the state as long as he can to avid being prosecuted by others and to run out the statute of limitations.
Attorney Gary King is a snivelling coward using the power of his office to attack his political foes, uses public funds and employees to promote himself to higher office, denies everything when he is caught, and gets outraged at the press when they don’t print what he wants them to.
Darren White is in love with his own image on TV, and has dragged APD into the gutter. He wants to share every sordid detail on a suspect, but goes to great lengths to hide information about his performance or lack thereof. White also left the sheriff’s office in a shambles, and before that the state police department.
Both of these so-called public officials have abused the public trust for too long, having miserably failed in leading the offices they represent. The employees I know that work for either of them are ashamed at what has become of their once highly respected agencies.
The ABQ Journal ran a story on July 14, 2011 that Gary King sat on releasing a critical legal opinion requested one and a half years ago by the Leader of the state Senate. This opinion was important for the SIC case, that he decided he was not interested in back then. But recently changed his mind on to take advantage of the work by Frank Foy, or to keep Foy from getting Richardson in trouble.
The essence of the legal opinion is that the SIC contract with a law firm should have been put out to bid. The opinion is too late now, the contract was completed and the bill have been paid. Another example of Gary Kings incompetence, too little, too late”.
The corruption you talk about is what is skin deep. To see how it began with support of Christian Coalition, since they supported politicians who told them what they wanted to hear, Google INSIDE THE NEW MEXICO GOP. That group has a firm grasp on Republican Party politics and will continue to operate the way they want.
We should have elected District Attorney Matt Chandler. Please people, encourage Chandler to run again for AG in 2014. He can win and turn this state around with regard to corruption. We should start a support group for Chandler and one calling for King’s resignation along with Pastor Smothermon.
Gary King’s decisions have been based on politics rather that on what’s best for New Mexico. He violated State Law when he failed to prosecute election law violations according to the expose INSIDE THE NEW MEXICO GOP. Even the Secrretary of State from his own party and the US Attorney General agreed, but still no one has acted against him for fear of reprisals.
