Relief From Heat Arriving For Midwest And Northeast
A cold front is bringing much needed relief to residents in the Midwest and eastern U.S. Storms fired up yesterday in the nation’s midsection and stretched all the way east to the Mid-Atlantic. Heavy rain and damaging winds rocked Missouri and Arkansas Sunday night and the storm system wreaked havoc on Kentucky, West Virginia and Virginia. In West Virginia, where tens of thousands of customers have been without power for over a week due to deadly storms about ten days ago, stormy weather brought the temperatures down but added to the list of people without power with utility poles and trees cascading down on streets and property. Forecasters say this week will see temperatures drop down into the 80s in areas that have been seeing triple digits for days.
