Six American Soldiers Killed In Afghanistan

(Kabul)  –  Half a dozen American soldiers are dead following a bomb attack in eastern Afghanistan.  The Taliban has issued a statement claiming responsibility for the deaths of the six soldiers on Sunday.  In addition to that incident, a string of roadside bombings and attacks throughout the day left dozens of Afghan civilians and police dead.  The bloodshed came as foreign dignitaries met in Tokyo to discuss Afghanistan’s future.  Major donors at the meeting pledged 16 billion dollars in development aid there over the next several years.
